VALLEJO ORELLANA, Reyes; SANCHEZ-BARRANCO VALLEJO, Fernando  and  SANCHEZ-BARRANCO VALLEJO, Pablo. Separation or divorce: Psychological disordes on parents and children. Rev. Asoc. Esp. Neuropsiq. [online]. 2004, n.92, pp.91-110. ISSN 2340-2733.

Upon outlining the key psychological role that the family group exerts on the children, we have examined the current available research data analyzing the potential impact that the separation or divorce may have on them. Finally, we have included a description of several syndromes such as the Parental Alienation Syndrome, Malicious Parent Syndrome, and the Severe Interference Syndrome, as well the late-onset False Memory Syndrome, provided their negative effect on the process of separation or divorce.

Keywords : Separation; Divorce; Joint custody; Sole custody; Alienation Parental Syndrome; Malicious Parent Syndrome; Severe Interference Syndrome; False Memory Syndrome.
