Abstract
FONT TORNE, Roser; LOPEZ UBEDA, M.P. Luisa and ORERO GARCIA, Ana. A case report: the importance of networking. Rev. Asoc. Esp. Neuropsiq. [online]. 2013, vol.33, n.118, pp.355-359. ISSN 2340-2733. https://dx.doi.org/10.4321/S0211-57352013000200009.
We describe the case of a 36 weeks pregnant 38-year-old woman attended an appointment in an outpatient psychiatric clinic asking for a scheduled induction. A psychotic disorder and multiple symptoms derived from anxiety and rejection towards maternity were observed following mental examination with several socioeconomic and familiar risks signals. A need for close collaboration between different healthcare workers and services arose from this situation. This work aims to highlight the importance of multidisciplinary approaches and coordinate networking. The case shows how this kind of intervention is specially relevant when working with severely disordered patients within complex social and family contexts.
