DUQUE CANTON, V; CARRETERO BARRADO, L  and  MANZANO SOLO DE ZALDIVAR, D. Clinical outcomes of fixed rehabilitation with KYT ® implants in totally edentulous patients. Av Odontoestomatol [online]. 2021, vol.37, n.1, pp.31-37.  Epub Dec 05, 2022. ISSN 2340-3152.  https://dx.doi.org/10.4321/s0213-12852021000100004.

Introduction.

The aim of this study was to report the outcome of treatment of fully edentulous patients with fixed prostheses supported with dental implants.

Methods.

15 patients were treated with 143 Ktx ® sandblasted and acid surface implants for fixed maxilla/mandible rehabilitation. Implants were loaded with two protocols, delayed after a healing free-loading period of 4-6 months, and immediate in the same day of the surgery. The mean follow-up were 29.3 months.

Results.

Clinical results indicate a survival and success rate of implants of 99.3%. 74.8% implants were nonsubmerged and 25.2% submerged. One implant were lost during the follow-up period. In 60% of patients, the surgical procedure were basic and in 40%, advanced surgery (regeneration, sinus lift, bone graft). 111 implants were loaded immediately and 32 implants with delayed laoding. The patients were restored with 22 screw fixed rehabilitations. Peri-implantitis were observed in 13.2% of implants and technical complicacions in 18.1% of prostheses.

Conclusions.

This study indicate that treatment with fixed rehabilitations by dental implants in totally edentulous patients constitute a successful treatment.
