Abstract

BERNSTEIN, M.. New retractor with ultrabilliant diode. Cir. plást. iberolatinoam. [online]. 2008, vol.34, n.2, pp.151-152. ISSN 1989-2055.

After many studies and tests a very innovative, strong and comfortable retractor is introduced; it is considered ideal for mammary implants surgery and it is also very useful in difficult access surgeries. This new design produces less tissue damage than ordinary flat retractors due to its smaller contact surface; besides it allows a better view of the surgery field (as it permits the observation of any bleeding that traditional flat separators would hide). Its modern illumination is strong and precise; it offers above 25% more light than fiber optics without any external light source what makes this retractor very easy to handle and to transport.
