Abstract

DE LA CRUZ FERRER, L.; GARCIA GARCIA, T.  and  BERENGUER FROHNER, B.. Inferior palpebral fat bags etiology: Anatomical study related to aging and congruent therapeutical attitudes. Cir. plást. iberolatinoam. [online]. 2012, vol.38, n.2, pp.99-106. ISSN 1989-2055.  https://dx.doi.org/10.4321/S0376-78922012000200001.

Inferior palpebral fat bags are among the most common causes of Aesthetic Surgery consultation. We review their controversial etiology related to the orbital anatomy and the changes that take place in the orbital tissues in the process of aging. Based on these hypotheses the authors describe the treatment alternatives which they consider most congruent and physiologic and that have proven consistent results.

Keywords : Palpebral fat bags; Blepharoplasty; Orbital anatomy; Facial aging.
