Abstract

DE ABULLARADE, J.. Forehead aesthetic reconstruction on basal cell carcinoma. Cir. plást. iberolatinoam. [online]. 2014, vol.40, n.2, pp.195-203. ISSN 1989-2055.  https://dx.doi.org/10.4321/S0376-78922014000200009.

The forehead is one of the most difficult areas to reconstruct due to its own anatomy; the skin is firm, thick, and unelastic. This has been a challenge for many, and led us to innovate in the reconstruction of this anatomical area. In this article we classify imaginary reconstructive areas of the forehead according to the surrounding structures and describe a type of reconstruction for every zone in which we use rectangular local flaps mobilized following the natural lines of the forehead.

Keywords : Forehead; Forehead defects; Forehead reconstruction; Local flaps; Frontal flaps; Basal cell carcinoma.
