Abstract

SIEMIENCZUK, Guillermo et al. Breast ecotest: a new tool for choosing the pocket location of the implants. Cir. plást. iberolatinoam. [online]. 2016, vol.42, n.1, pp.5-11. ISSN 1989-2055.

Background and Objectives. For best results in breast implant augmentation, regardless of volume and shape, it is necessary choosing the right pocket location. To define the appropriate level, so far, we used the classic pinch test following the current world literature. Methods. Taking on count that this measurement can be subjective and variable because of different pressures to perform the pinch test used by different surgeons, plus the fact that we are not seeing what we are really pinching, we developed the idea to measure it accurately and objectively by ab ultrasound preoperative study, which we call the ecotest polo superior. Results. With this new tool, we evaluated 95 patients with a minimum follow-up 6 months postoperatory. Conclusions. With this new toolwe found improvement in our aesthetic results.
