[online]. 2017, vol.43, n.4, pp.377-380. ISSN 1989-2055.  https://dx.doi.org/10.4321/s0376-78922017000500007.

We present the case of a patient with a high voltage electrical burn with an exit wound at the anterolateral region of the proximal left thigh with exposure of deep tissues. For the coverage reconstruction, a medial thigh propeller flap based on perforating vessels was made, with modifications to the original technique, in order to achieve greater advance of the skin island.

We did not find literature that introducing the medial thigh propeller flap as a reconstructive choice for these type of burns, which could be a safe and reliable option for the coverage of defects originated by these kind of wounds.

Keywords : Medial thigh flap; Propeller flap; Perforator flap; Electric burn; Burns reconstruction.
