Abstract

PALOMO SANCHEZ, J. C. et al. Hepatocellular adenoma. Oncología (Barc.) [online]. 2004, vol.27, n.5, pp.45-48. ISSN 0378-4835.

Hepatic adenoma is a benign proliferation of hepatocytes, usually seen in women with a history of prolonged oral contraceptive intake. It is rare in men. Helicoidal computerized tomography and magnetic resonance imaging are the most effective diagnostic tests presently available. Treatment consists in hepatic resection in both symptomatic and asymptomatic cases, due to the risk of tumor growth, rupture or malignant transformation.

Keywords : Hepatocellular adenoma; Benign liver tumor; Hepatic resection.
