Abstract

MOIX, Jenny  and  CASADO, M.ª Isabel. Psychological Therapies to Treat Chronic Pain. Clínica y Salud [online]. 2011, vol.22, n.1, pp.41-50. ISSN 2174-0550.

Although there is abundant literature showing the effectiveness of cognitivebehavioral treatment of chronic pain, in our country, there was no manual for it. For this reason, we designed a protocol that describes the various techniques of this therapy. In this article, we conducted a detailed description. Before dealing with cognitive-behavioral therapy, we present a review of the main psychological therapies used in the treatment of chronicpain.

Keywords : chronic pain; cognitive-behavioral therapy; relaxation; hypnosis; biofeedback; operant techniques; acceptance and commitment therapy; mindfulness; emotional disclosure.
