Abstract

The objective was to reflect on possible contributions that the theoretical elements of anthropology can offer for teaching, research and nursing care to the hospitalized elderly. It is possible to analyze the relevance of seniors' hospitalization topic, principles governing the practice of geronto-geriatric care, anthropology interface and hospitalized elderly care and the challenges for the implementation of methods based on anthropological concepts in hospitals. Considering the hospital as a place where it is necessary and feasible more humanistic care, for which the cultural approach serves as a fitting support for interdisciplinary and intersectional actions to face obstacles aimed at its implementation.
