Work stress in women is increased by the unpaid work they perform, which includes housework, childcare and caring for sick family members. Work overload generates higher levels of stress, depression and anxiety in women. The aim is to explain the development of work stress model, self-transcendence and consumption and non consumption of alcohol and benzodiazepines in women. The main concepts of the Self-Transcendence Theory, self-transcendence, vulnerability, well-being, personal and contextual factors are included. The concepts proposed in the model are spirituality, emotional intelligence, work stress and non consumption of alcohol and benzodiazepines. For the substructuring the main concepts are identified and isolated, the relationships between them are specified; they are ordered hierarchically and the representation of the relationships between variables is carried out.
