Abstract
GARRIDO, B.. Complex regional pain syndrome: An approach between physiopathology and therapeutics. Rev. Soc. Esp. Dolor [online]. 2005, vol.12, n.4, pp.227-234. ISSN 1134-8046.
Still nowadays there are taxonomical controversies that interfere with the early diagnosis and treatment of the complex regional pain syndrome. Furthermore, there is no consensus between the different disciplines involved in the care of these patients in order to set an optimal individualized pattern of behavior based on pathophysiologic mechanisms. Establishing a parallelism between these and the different therapies available, the aim of this review is to propose a methodology to be applied according to the clinical variants observed in our clinical practice, based on an early, multidisciplinary and multifactorial treatment designed for each individual patient to provide him/her an adequate quality of life as soon as possible. The management of the CRPS can only be effective if it is aimed to pathophysiologic mechanisms.
