Abstract
DIAZ RUIZ, S.. Death by body packer syndrome: Case report. Cuad. med. forense [online]. 2008, n.51, pp.47-54. ISSN 1988-611X.
Smuggling of illicit drugs by concealing them within the human body (body packer) is a medical-legal problem that has increased in the last decades. We present a case of a body-packer syndrome where the illicit drugs (in our case cocaine) were carried in the intestinal tract. Three of the packets got broken in the stomach, thus producing a massive transfer of cocaine to the blood and death due to fatal massive cocaine intoxication. One of the main medico-legal implications of this case is the recovering of all packets inside the body.
Keywords : body-packer; cocaine; fatal intoxication.
