Abstract

MINANA GOMEZ, Miguel. The Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA) in Endodontics . RCOE [online]. 2002, vol.7, n.3, pp.283-289. ISSN 1138-123X.

Mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) is a new material developed for endodontics. The principal indications of MTA are vital pulp therapy (pulpotomy, direct pulp capping), apexification (apical plug), endodontic surgery, and lateral, furcal and resorption perforations repair. The MTA favours the formation of cementum and bone, and it may facilitate the regeneration of the periodontal ligament without provoking inflammation.

Keywords : Mineral trioxide aggregate; MTA; Endodontics.
