Abstract

VILLALBA NOGALES, J  and  VILLALBA SANTOS, I. Abdominal dermatitis in children of Mactzul population. Rev Pediatr Aten Primaria [online]. 2016, vol.18, n.72, pp.335-339. ISSN 1139-7632.

Contact dermatitis is the result of skin contact with chemical products which may cause irritation, inflammation and infiltrative reactions on the skin by different mechanisms. During the stay in a labour camp with Mactzul indigenous population in Guatemala, we have seen a high number of children with abdominal dermatitis as a result of a permanent exposure to nickel-plated buckles. We present 11 cases and make a brief discussion of them and their treatment.

Keywords : Nickel; Contact dermatits; Dermatitis.
