Abstract

The article describes a program for the evaluation of teaching quality at the School of Medicine of the University of Chile, which has been running now for 4 years. We explain the structure of the Teaching Quality Evaluation Committee responsible for the program, its planning activities, task implementation, networking with feedback and other aspects. The objectives, methods, components, requirements and operating systems of the Program are described. The main components of the program are: objectives of the evaluation; sources and categories of information; criteria and levels of quality; methods for information retrieval and for the evaluation and implementation of suggestions. Flow diagrams and time charts of activities for the operation of the program are provided. Finally, we discuss the future of the program and make proposals for possible innovations to ensure the continued improvement of teaching.
