SERRATO HERNANDEZ, L.H.. Psychometric Properties of the Questionnaire Built to Evaluate Hardy Personality in Sportsmen. CPD [online]. 2017, vol.17, n.3, pp.25-34. ISSN 1989-5879.

This research aimed to construct and validate an instrument to evaluate hardy personality in performance athletes. A psychometric design was used with a descriptive methodology, which included the steps to construct a psychological instrument. The elaboration of the instrument included 36 items distributed on the scales commitment, control and challenge. This version was applied to 350 athletes (women n=129, x= 19,3 years of age and men= 221, x= 21,3 years of age), distributed in five sports groups (combat, art and precision, time and land mark, ball and mark time and water). Principal Component Analysis with Varimax rotation was made. The final version of the test was composed of 27 items distributed on the scales commitment, control and challenge. The whole test yielded a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0,905 and to the factors were: 0,785 in control, 0,790 in challenge and 0,838 in commitment. The most important contribution was to submit a test with high psychometric qualities of hardy personality construct designed to assess in performance athletes.
