Abstract

Sport and physical activity have, increasingly, a very important role in the life of prisons, being used normally in order to facilitate the process of reintegration of prisoners. In this sense, the objectives of this study were: to analyze the degree of satisfaction of prisoners with educational sports basketball program carried out by the Real Madrid Foundation, and highlight the most relevant results of its application. To this end, a questionnaire to 267 inmates out of a total of 21 prisons in Spain was administered. Among the most outstanding results, stands the fact that, in general, respondents were very satisfied with the educational sports program conducted. In addition, the found data showed that the vast majority of inmates felt they had learned a lot in relation to the sport developed (basketball) and worked with educational values.
