Abstract

SAENZ-LOPEZ BUNUEL, P.; REBOLLO GONZALEZ, J.A.  and  VIZCAINO DOMINGUEZ, C.. Keys to the victory in the basketball Queen's Cup in 2016. CPD [online]. 2017, vol.17, n.3, pp.223-230. ISSN 1989-5879.

The study of the sporting success continues to be a necessity, especially when the winner is not the favorite as happened in the final of the Copa de la Reina de Baloncesto 2016. It sought to know the keys of this victory through four instruments. First, the official match stats. Second, interviews of 12 of the players on the winning team of the game. Third, the analysis of the opinion of the press and fourthly, a thorough analysis of the match through a coded observation. With regard to statistics, the winning team dominated the rebound and assists. In interviews and press, players and coaches believe that the team reached the weekend in a good shape. Most respondents emphasized the emotional aspect. The enthusiasm, conviction and the union of the group was noted in the field. In observing the match it was found that the winning team had more possessions, greater efficiency in the outside shot and less unforced errors. In conclusion, the emotional aspect was important and influenced in the tactics variables analyzed.
