Enferm. glob. [online]. 2012, vol.11, n.26, pp.01-09. ISSN 1695-6141.  https://dx.doi.org/10.4321/S1695-61412012000200001.

We describe the construction and validation of an instrument to assess adherence to treatment in patients with heart failure, using as theoretical reference the factors associated with adherence and their respective indicators NOC taxonomy. The instrument consists of 30 items grouped into ten dimensions. The objective was to establish initial indicators of reliability and construct validity of the instrument "Behavior assessment of adherence to pharmacologic and non pharmacologic treatment in patients with heart failure". The instrument was applied to 192 individuals diagnosed with heart failure andthe construct validity was established using factor analysis, and internal consistency by Cronbach's Alpha statistical test. The psychometric analysis of this study showed an index of reliability of 0.7213 which is considered adequate; this instrument a nursing assessment tool that can be useful in assessing adherence to treatment in patients with heart failure.

Keywords : validity of tests; compliance; heart failure; medication adherence; advance directive adherence; patient compliance.
