Abstract

LENO-GONZALEZ, Daniel. Approach from an anthropological perspective to care in the diseases of the present and the past: texts and contexts. Temperamentvm [online]. 2021, vol.17, e13227.  Epub Jan 27, 2023. ISSN 1699-6011.

This text is presented as a work oriented to the foundation of anthropology as a discipline of approach to the study of diseases and their care in the present as in the past. It exposes and bases, conceptually and methodologically, the main areas of approximation with a magnifying glass or anthropological view to this field of study. In the text the contributions of authors who have deepened within the medical anthropology, Comelles, Martínez Hernáez, Beltrán Moya, De Miguel, etc. are reviewed. We argue the need for social theories that invite us to rethink health and disease in our unequal and diverse world. From the mentioned authors, and as conductive threads, we describe several areas of investigation around the health-disease-care complex, in both current and past diseases and within the latter, a description is made of how our approach is from the ethnography.

Keywords : Anthropology; Ethnography; Care.
