Pain is a problem which significantly affects quality of life of oncology patients and their families. These identify pain as the most important and disabling symptom.

Despite its high prevalence, pain is still not treated adequately, due both to underdiagnosis and to healthcare professionals’ lack of training and knowledge about available tools for its evaluation and treatment.
