Abstract

AZAMBUJA LOCH, Fernanda de. Predictive genetics tests: a bioethical and legal reflection. Rev. Bioética y Derecho [online]. 2014, n.30, pp.92-108. ISSN 1886-5887.  https://dx.doi.org/10.4321/S1886-58872014000100007.

The possibility of predictive genetic testing may provide benefits for the prevention and treatment of diseases. However, despite these advances, it requires a reflection about the negative aspects that may arise from the use of these technologies without medical orientation. These tests, to be considered legally and ethically appropriate, should take into consideration the bioethical principles, through genetic counseling and informed consent, as well as the legal principle of human dignity and the rights of personality.

Keywords : Bioethics; genetic testing; informed consent; genetic counseling; human dignity; personality rights.
