Abstract

SANCHEZ GOMEZ, María Begoña et al. Competences of specialist nurses in family and communnity nursing. Analysis for your current and future development. Ene. [online]. 2019, vol.13, n.3, 1335.  Epub Feb 24, 2020. ISSN 1988-348X.

Introduction:

The study of competencies is essential in organizations to effectively plan training based on educational improvement opportunities. With this, the new role of the nurse is adapted to the new needs: dependency, personalized assistance, informed decision making; the growing demand to assume responsibilities; and the greater professional autonomy, linked to a greater responsibility in decision making.

The self-perception on the performance of legislated competences is a resource to determine which ones should be promoted or acquired, for a better adaptation to the profile of a specialist in Family and Community Nursing. Therefore, the aim of this study is to identify the training needs of primary care nurses to adapt their profile to law SAS / 1729/2010.

Methodology:

Mixed qualitative-quantitative cut study. The qualitative methodology is performed with focus groups and Delphi semi-qualitative technique. The quantitative methodology is developed with a cross-sectional descriptive study of self-perception of competencies. Both methodologies are based on the competencies published in law SAS/1729/2010.

Results:

Thematic areas were established for the study of the competences and competences were differentiated to study in both specialty years. A bank of general and specific training needs was established by professional profile.

Discussion:

Competencies that need training are identified: public and community health, attention to health in situations of fragility or socio-health risk and research. Others that have a high self-perception: Clinic and advanced methodology, attention to the adult, attention to the elderly and attention to emergencies, emergencies and catastrophes. In general, they suspend the competences related to planning, direction, design, development, contact with the media and quality.
