Chronic diseases are a first-level problem in today's Healthcare. All of them count on many modifiable risk factors. The most common risk factors constitute unhealthy life habits which, by the Orem's "Self-care deficit" nursing theory, can be framed into an inadequate self-care agency.

The main point in this paper is to identify if care and the development of chronic diseases are related. The method used was a deductive one.

Maladjusted care related to the individual's caring needs, permanently in time, was identified as the one to blame for affecting the health, developing chronic diseases.
