Abstract

SANTANA RAMOS, Héctor  and  MORALES GAZQUEZ, María José. The importance of compassion in Nursing. Ene. [online]. 2021, vol.15, n.2, 1212.  Epub Jan 31, 2022. ISSN 1988-348X.

The study of compassion is necessary because there is a lack of it in the care of patients worldwide. Therefore, the aim of this study is to know the way in which nursing professionals carry out compassion in their work. To achieve this, a systematic review and a subsequent thematic analysis were carried out.

It is concluded that nurses carry out compassion through conscious actions (or omissions of actions) that satisfy the holistic needs of patients, using cultural competence. These compassionate actions are influenced by the complexity of the concept of compassion and its implementation in practice.
