Abstract
MUNOZ-MUNOZ, D; MATABANCHOY, S; PEREZ, D and HERRERA-LOPEZ, M. Quality life at work scale in informal work: an instrumental study with mototaxists in Colombia. Rev Asoc Esp Espec Med Trab [online]. 2021, vol.30, n.4, pp.452-466. Epub Mar 14, 2022. ISSN 3020-1160.
Objective:
To develop an instrument to measure the quality life at work in the informal sector. The initial hypothesis was that the scale would respond to an objective and subjective conceptualization for the measurement of LQL.
Materials and Methods:
The probabilistic sample was made up of 321 motorcycle taxi drivers (M = 35.05 SD = 10.41) from three municipalities of Nariño (Colombia). Content validity was performed by expert judges, scale piloting, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, and estimation of internal consistency of the scale and subscales.
Results:
the exploratory factor analysis suggested five factors that explain 55.76% of the total variance; subsequently a confirmatory factor analysis validated the explored structure. Adequate internal consistency values were obtained for the full scale and for each factor.
Conclusions:
The factors obtained are in accordance with the theoretical explanation of LQL contextualized to mototaxism. The psychometric findings refer to a useful, pertinent, valid and reliable instrument for the Colombian context.
