Abstract

CERVANTES-MORANT, Rafael  and  HERNANDEZ-SOTO, Aquiles. Risk assessment of biomechanical overload in quinoa workers in Bolivia. Rev Asoc Esp Espec Med Trab [online]. 2023, vol.32, n.3, pp.189-197.  Epub Dec 18, 2023. ISSN 3020-1160.

Introduction:

Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD) are a major health problem, cause disability and reduce the profitability of companies.

Objectives:

To evaluate the risk to biomechanical overload, to carry out anthropometric measurements for a prevention-oriented job redesign.

Material and Methods:

Descriptive cross-sectional study in a job using ISO TR 12295 standards, anthropometry of 10 workers with ISO 7250-1:2017 standards and redesign of the job under ISO 14738 standards.

Results:

manual lifting of loads at a critical level, forced static posture at an unacceptable level, repetitive movements of the right upper extremity, or a ocrachecklist of 11.5, were evidenced. The anthropometric measurements of 10 workers were obtained, with which the redesign of the job was proposed.

Conclusions:

The redesign managed to eliminate the danger of manual lifting of loads and reduce the risk of forced postures and repetitive movements of the upper extremity.

Keywords : Musculoskeletal disorders; ergonomic risks.
