The purpose of this work is the socioeconomic and productive characterization of 15 family goat farms in Piaxtla municipality of Puebla. Farms were studied by means of surveys, including social, economic and animal husbandry aspects. From sixteen variables used the principal component analysis selected nine. The indices of quality of life in employment, education, health, housing, balanced diet, salary, sports and culture are weak, this has caused a strong current of migration of young people in these communities to United States.
