Justification: It is necessary to evaluate the importance they attach the elderly to their support networks, due to the weakening or loss experience as they get older, because it is necessary to have a scale that measures in a reliable and valid. Objective: Determine the psychometric properties of the Multidimensional Scale Perceived Social Support Zimet in older adults. Methodology: Cross-sectional study in a sample of 87 elderly ascribed to a Primary Health Care Center (Chillán, Chile). We conducted an exploratory factor analysis with Varimax rotation. Results: There was a three-factor solution factors together explain 83.07% of the variance. The internal consistency of the scale had a value of 0.8595. Scale has high reliability and confirms the constructs proposed by the authors. Conclusión: This scale is applicable in elderly population treated at the Primary Health Care in Chile.
