The underlying pathogenesis of neuropathic pain very complex and despite the current pharmacological and non-pharmacological advances of recent years continues to be an important reason for suffering patients with chronic pain. Its complexity, variation presentation and the lack of specific diagnostic tools may result in poor management of these patien Although some patients experience improvement their symptoms with the current available treatments is a fact that a vast majority remains disabled and suffe of depression requiring a multidisciplinary approach. the last few years it has been significant progress in the understanding of the underlying mechanims of this ty of pain raising hope for new and more effective treatments in the near future.
