Older adults with diabetes are a vulnerable group of the population, with conditions and needs that require more attention. That is why the family is a fundamental part in the delivery of care and control of this disease. Compliance was related drug treatment of diabetes mellitus type 2 and familial factors in the elderly in a Family Health Center. Study correlational cross section. The scales: Family APGAR, Scale Multidimensional social support and Morisky-Green. Conclusions: treatment adherence is significantly associated with: family structure, factors, family dysfunction, male gender and the presence of family and social support in most of the participants achievers were in the high or medium.
