Abstract

Existen múltiples factores mecánicos que condicionan la permeabilidad de la vía aérea superior (VAS). Todos ellos interaccionan para conseguir diferentes secciones luminales en los cuatro sectores faríngeos: nasofaringe, velofaringe, orofaringe e hipofaringe. También hay que tener en cuenta el juego de presiones que se transmiten a lo largo de todo el aparato respiratorio. Es un sistema complejo en el que se debe realizar una observación multifactorial para llegar a determinar la etiopatogenia de los fenómenos obstructivos de la VAS.
