Abstract
MOLINA ARIAS, M.. Case-crossover studies. Rev Pediatr Aten Primaria [online]. 2015, vol.17, n.68, pp.373-376. ISSN 1139-7632. https://dx.doi.org/10.4321/S1139-76322015000500019.
The case-crossover studies or self-monitoring cases answer the question of wether there has been any unusual event that has been promoting the emergence of the event or disease under study. In this type of study, each subject serves as his or her own control, comparing case times with control times within each individual. This avoids bias selection of controls and maintains balanced confounding variables that may exist, so that they remain stable throughout the study.
