Abstract

SELVA, Clara; SAHAGUN, Miguel Angel  and  PALLARES, Susana. Studies on Careers and Women's Access to Management Positions: a Bibliometric Analysis. Rev. psicol. trab. organ. [online]. 2011, vol.27, n.3, pp.227-242. ISSN 2174-0534.

During the last few decades, women's professional careers and their access to top management positions have gained relevance as research phenomena. Approaches to the subject are diverse, both interms of specific features and type of study, with results that are often inconclusive and not free of contradictions. This article presents a map of existing literature on the subject through the construction and analysis of a set of bibliometric variables in order to set out its boundaries, properties and trends. The data set includes 110 articles published in scientific journals. Articles were codified in terms of type of study, specific features, authors, language and type of publication, among others. Results show a marked growth in literature on the subject during the last few years, as well as a series of associations between specific features and type of study.

Keywords : bibliometrics; gender; professional career; top management; woman.
