Abstract
FERREIRA DA SILVA NETTO, Manuel Camelo; DANTAS, Carlos Henrique Félix and ALBUQUERQUE LOBO, Fabíola. Where do babies come from? Artificial womb, bioethics and law: the possible impacts of ectogenesis in the field of filiation - An analysis of the Brazilian legal context. Rev. Bioética y Derecho [online]. 2021, n.51, pp.283-298. Epub Mar 29, 2021. ISSN 1886-5887.
In recent times, biotechnological advances in the field of human reproduction have led to several procreation alternatives for those seeking to initiate a parental project through so-called assisted reproductive techniques. In this area, recent research has focused on the development of artificial womb technology, with the aim of making ectogenesis viable, that is, the development of extracorporeal pregnancies. As a result, this article seeks to review, from the Brazilian legal perspective, the possible impacts that the effective development of this tool may have on the attribution of civil filiation. For this purpose, a bibliographic review was carried out in order to determine which would be the parameters for the assignment of filiation relationship.
Keywords : bioethics; biolaw; ectogenesis; artificial womb; filiation.
