Abstract

Introduction. Heart disease involves changes in the lifestyle of the people who suffer from it. The goal is to know how live coronary artery disease a group of women a year have suffered. Methods. Phenomenological design through semi-structured interview 17 women who had suffered from coronary disease and who were hospitalized. Giorgi (1985) method is used for data analysis. Results. The resignation with which adapt to illness and physical and psychological limitation that initially produces the same to them. Conclusions and discussion. Gender influences the way of thinking and living the coronary disease, and there are inequities in approach and management of this pathology. Control of Cardiovascular risk factors is still poor, and it is essential to provide adequate information to the population in general, with a specific focus on women.
