Introduction
The family's eating habits are related to knowledge, attitudes and behaviors, influenced by various factors, including sociocultural.
Material and methods
Qualitative, descriptive, phenomenological study, carried out with 11 people responsible for food and 11 children <12 years old. The collection was through the ethnographic interview and semi-structured guides, based on Roper's "Model of life".
Results
The economy, time and the opinion of the members determine the type of food for the family.
Discussion
Food experiences are the product of food culture and the influence of the media.
