Abstract

SIVERIO-DIAZ, Alba Rocío  and  BELLAHMAR-LKADIRI, Samia. Nursing care plan development with the mid-range theory of self-care of chronic diseases. Ene. [online]. 2023, vol.17, n.2, 2429.  Epub Jan 22, 2024. ISSN 1988-348X.

The concept of empowerment has spread in our clinical practice in recent years. An empowered person is one who is capable of deliberating, solving their setbacks and satisfying their needs, with control and critical judgment over their life and health. In order for them to achieve these skills, we as professionals have the responsibility of informing and training patients so that they improve their knowledge and skills in self-care for their chronic diseases. Regarding a clinical case, he addresses, from a mid-range theory, how we can approach this type of patients for proper maintenance of their self-care.

Keywords : Self-care; chronic patient; nursing; Primary care and midrange theory.
