Abstract

ELIAS-VIRAMONTES, Alma de Coral; CASIQUE-CASIQUE, Leticia  and  RODRIGUEZ-LORETO, José Ernesto. The person with chronic kidney disease: a systematic review of health interventions. Enferm Nefrol [online]. 2020, vol.23, n.4, pp.333-344.  Epub Feb 15, 2021. ISSN 2255-3517.  https://dx.doi.org/10.37551/s2254-28842020034.

Introduction:

Interventions focused on the education and training of people with chronic kidney disease are known, however, many are fragmented to the person when considering only the increase in knowledge and / or behaviors, therefore, as there is no comprehensive care, no favorable changes are achieved.

Objective:

To identify the theoretical and methodo logical aspects taken into account in the design andimplementation of health interventions for people with kidney disease.

Methodology:

A systematic review through the Bi blioteca Virtual de la Salud and PubMed databases was carried out, analyzing articles in English and Spa nish that implemented an intervention for people with chronic kidney disease.

Results:

From a total of 218 articles found in the databases, 28 publications were selected. In the synthesis of results, the sample size, the design and theoretical approach of the intervention, the main results and conclusions were considered. Research involving the psychological aspect was found, parti cularly the motivational area as the central axis in behavioral change and considering Bandura's model as the theoretical reference, which provides impro vements in the health behaviors of people with kid ney disease.

Conclusions:

An intervention with defined theoreti cal bases can contribute to health prevention with a low cost and high impact on people's lifestyles. In ad dition, it is a great contribution to the knowledge of health education and to the profession as a science.
