Abstract

VICO GARCERAN, María Belén  and  MOYA AYZA, Marta. Multiple chemical sensitivity in the workplace: description of a suspected case. Rev Asoc Esp Espec Med Trab [online]. 2017, vol.26, n.4, pp.271-274.  Epub Feb 12, 2024. ISSN 3020-1160.

Multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) is a controversial and little understood entity. It is important for occupational health physicians to know about its diagnostic criteria and understand how to manage patients suffering from MCS because of the significant impact it can have in the work environments. Here we review the current knowledge of MCS and its repercussions in the workplace. We report the case of an employee suspected of having MCS and the adaptive recommendations made by our Occupational Health Service in response to it.

Keywords : multiple chemical sensitivity; disability; occupational hazards.
