Abstract
PINCAY VERA, Mayra Elizabeth; CHIRIBOGA LARREA, Gustavo Alberto and VEGA FALCON, Vladimir. Improper posture and its incidence in muscle-skeletal disorders. Rev Asoc Esp Espec Med Trab [online]. 2021, vol.30, n.2, pp.161-168. Epub Sep 13, 2021. ISSN 3020-1160.
Objectives:
To determine the inappropriate postures that affect the presentation of musculoskeletal disorders of fruit pickers in the company Energy&Palma in the year 2020.
Material and Methods:
It was a study of relational level, of observational, descriptive, prospective, and transversal type, carried out in November 2020. The postural load was evaluated with the REBA method and a qualitative analysis was carried out with the Kuorinka Nordic Questionnaire to 52 agricultural workers who carried out the oil palm lifting activity.
Results:
The finding was that 14.4% of the fruit lifters presented skeletal muscle injuries in different parts of the body in the last year. Of all the disorders identified, low back pain was in first place.
Conclusions:
The personnel in charge of African palm lifters were exposed to skeletal muscle injuries and if preventive and corrective measures are not taken, they could lead to occupational diseases.
