MACIAS ESCALADA, Emilio; CARLOS VILLAFRANCA, Félix de; COBO PLANA, Juan and DIAZ ESNAL, Belén. Oral appliances in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome. RCOE [online]. 2002, vol.7, n.4, pp.391-402. ISSN 1138-123X.
Description of the characteristics of some of the most widely used devices for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea and chronic snoring. The use of these devices during sleep to reposition the mandible and/or tongue to a more anterior position contributes to avoid snoring and to reduce considerably, in some selected cases, the apnea-hypopnea index (AHI).
Keywords : Snore; Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome; Oral appliances.
