Abstract
BUJALDON-DAZA, Juan Manuel; RODRIGUEZ-ARGAIZ, Rocío; BUJALDON-DAZA, Antonio Luis and RODRIGUEZ-RODRIGUEZ, Manuel. Orthodontic treatment of a skeletal class III with great lack of space and several associated dental problems. RCOE [online]. 2003, vol.8, n.4, pp.397-409. ISSN 1138-123X.
In this article we show a clinical case of a skeletal class III with maxillary hipoplasia accompanied by anterior mandibular displacement that causes a severe crossbite. Dentally, it is necessary to highlight the great osseodental discrepancy in the upper arch, of about 13 mm. This leads to the canines being located high in the vestibular area and the lateral incisives almost contacting with the premolars. We observe inclusion of the 33 with bad prognosis for traction and a loss in that same quadrant of the first permanent molar. We highlight the conservative approach in the treatment planning, which has been carried out without extractions, with the exception of the impacted 33. We replaced the lost 3 tooth number 36 by mesializing tooth number 37.
