Introduction:
The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical outcomes of implant treatment of maxilla by advanced surgery techniques.
Methods:
81 patients were treated with 137 Galimplant® sandblasted-etched surface implants for rehabilitation of maxilla by sinus floor augmentation, osteotomes technique and bone grafts. Implants were loaded after a healing period of 6 months with a follow-up at least of 36 months.
Results:
56 patients (69.1%) were treated by sinus floor augmentation, 16 patients (19.8%) were treated by osteotomes technique and 9 patients (11.1%) with bone grafts. 106 implants (77.4%) of implants were inserted in posterior maxilla and 31 implants (22.6%) in anterior maxilla. Clinical findings showed a survival and success rate of implants of 94.2% after a mean follow-up of 50.6 months, because 8 implants were lost. Five implants were lost during healing period, and 3 implants were lost by peri-implantitis.
Conclusions:
This study indicate that rehabilitation of maxilla by advanced surgery techniques with implants constitute a dental treatment with a high success rate
