MADRONAL MARTIN, N. y GIL SANZ, E.. Eosinophilic gastritis: review of a case. Medifam [online]. 2003, vol.13, n.2, pp.59-63. ISSN 1131-5768.
Eosinophilic gastroenteritis is a rare disease in which there is a variable infiltration of the gastrointestinal tract by mature eosinophils, peripheral eosinophilia is found in 70-80% of cases. The most common symptoms are nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, abdominal fullness and weakness. We report the case of 50-year-old man with acute epigastric pain and vomiting. The peripheral-blood eosinophil count was high. The pathological diagnosis after endoscopic examination was eosinophilic gastritis. The patient remains asymptomatic after oral steroids therapy.
