FUENTES, JP; DE LA VEGA, R; ABELLO, VM y HERNANDEZ, I. Knowledge about health and mood in infarcted by orientation test. CPD [online]. 2018, vol.18, n.2, pp.125-134. Epub 25-Sep-2023. ISSN 1989-5879.
This quasi-experimental study analyses the effect of an orienteering race conducted in the natural environment on the knowledge acquired by patients who have suffered a heart attack. During the race, activities were carried out in order to increase the assimilation of knowledge about healthy habits after infarction, in a fun and enjoyable way. The state of mind and knowledge about healthy habits in cardiac rehabilitation were evaluated pre and post-race. Data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential non-parametric statistics. Patients showed an "optimal mental profile" or "profile iceberg" after the race, significantly improving scores on anger and confusion. Significantly higher scores were verified post-race on the knowledge about healthy habits in cardiac rehabilitation. Also, subjects who had a greater knowledge before the race showed less mental stress. On the other hand, there was no relation between knowledge and other factors of the state of mind both pre- and post-r.
