The disc sit is a helpful tool for a vaginal delivery, since it favors the mobility of the joints of the pelvis, the hip and the spine, and helps on fetal descent and fetus correct position. This resource has similar characteristics to the birthing ball, it can be used as a substitute for it when the use of the ball is limited. It has not shown any harmful effect associated with the use of the disc for the mother or newborn; therefore, the professionals responsible for the care of pregnant women should know the different options and benefits of the disc, for women safety and to optimize their impact on the birth process.
