The gofio is a primary food within the Canarian diet and before patients with Diabetes Mellitus our objective will be to evaluate the coping capacity of the disease, not only contemplating the biological sphere, and thus the biomedical, but to value the person from a multidimensional sphere. Using a qualitative, reflective and descriptive approach will facilitate the study from the perspective of the medicalisation of Canarian food, in which health recommendations are used under the biomedical paradigm and therefore can affect the diabetic population if other modes of care are not taken into account.
